Object
column SNMPv2-SMICounter32
The number of input packets on a physical interface which
were dropped due to CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) errors.
CRC errors indicate that the received packet failed the CRC
check, suggesting data corruption during transmission. This
typically occurs due to:
o Physical layer issues (bad cables, connectors, or
transceivers)
o Electromagnetic interference
o Hardware issues on the interface
Discontinuities in the value of this variable can occur at
re-initialization of the management system, and at other
times as indicated by the values of
cieIfPacketDiscontinuityTime.
