This severely errored data block counter will be incremented whenever one of the following events takes place: the number of misinserted packets exceeds M(misinserted), the number of bipolar violations exceeds M(errored), or the number of lost packets exceeds M(lost). The values for M(misinserted), M(errored), and M(lost) are set based on vendor operator negotiation.
