Enumeration
This represents the operational state of the remote node
being evaluated.
The possible states are:
ON Allows logical links.
OFF Allows no new links, terminates existing
links, and stops routing traffic through.
SHUT Allows no new logical links, does not
destroy existing logical links, and goes
to the OFF state when all logical links are
gone.
RESTRICTED Allows no new incoming logical links from
other nodes.
NOTE: These values are incremented by one compared to
the standard DECnet values in order to maintain
compliance with RFC 1155.

Net-SNMP examples
How SNMP and these commands workWalk the column to discover its indexed instances, or supply every index to read one instance.
Walk the column
/usr/bin/snmpbulkwalk -v2c -c '<community>' -Pud -Ir -OQUs -m 'DECNET-PHIV-MIB' -M '/opt/observium/mibs/rfc:/opt/observium/mibs/net-snmp' 'udp:<hostname>:161' 'DECNET-PHIV-MIB::phivEndRemoteState'
More examples
Read one indexed instance
/usr/bin/snmpget -v2c -c '<community>' -Pud -Ir -OQUv -m 'DECNET-PHIV-MIB' -M '/opt/observium/mibs/rfc:/opt/observium/mibs/net-snmp' 'udp:<hostname>:161' 'DECNET-PHIV-MIB::phivEndRemoteState.<phivEndRemoteHostNodeID>'
Translate to a numeric OID
/usr/bin/snmptranslate -Pud -Ir -On -m 'DECNET-PHIV-MIB' -M '/opt/observium/mibs/rfc:/opt/observium/mibs/net-snmp' 'DECNET-PHIV-MIB::phivEndRemoteState'
