One or both ends of a 1+1 Hot Standby system can be connected to the network using an 'Optical-Y Splitter Kit per end'. This end configuration provides a single fiber interface to the network. Any end which is connected to the network using this method must have the Fiber Y attribute set to Enabled. Please note: CMUs must be loaded with boot code version 03-00 or later and recovery version 04-00 or later for Fiber Y to work correctly.
