This MIB when enabled will add an additional step to the T4 DOCSIS MAC reinitialization sequence. In addition to the normal DOCSIS MAC reinitilization, this MIB will force the modem to briefly take down the ethernet link between the modem and the CPE, which may be useful to cause the attached customer CPE to drop its IP address and restart its DHCP process.
