updates are initiated by the VLAN voice support.
An uplink interface is specified using interface
type and value notation in a string format
(e.g., 'gi0/9', 'po1234'). A maximum of 1 voice
uplink can be specified.
A zero-length string indicates that no uplink
data is specified.
