A linear least-squares fitted slope of the
measured attenuation (positive or negative) over
the wavelength range with no external attenuation
added to the DCM (unit: dB). The slope is defined
over the full wavelength range with a negative
slope signifying a higher insertion loss at the
lower wavelength.
