This object specifies the interval, in microseconds, between BFD control packet transmission (bootstrapped or otherwise) during the BFD session establishment process until the session comes to the UP state at both end systems. After the session is in the UP state in both the local and remote system, the packets will be transmitted at an interval influenced by the session's negotiated transmit interval and the value in this object will not be used.
