This object describes what the default path costs the bridge gives to ports upon link up. thirtyTwoBit designates 32 bit path cost value range in accordance with IEEE 802.1w standard and newer. Auto designates 16 bit path cost value range in accordance to IEEE 802.1d 1998 standard, except when the bridge is operating in MSTP protocol when 32 bit values will be in effect
