Enumeration
Controls and displays state of persistent
database used by MMA. Primary use of this
variable was to allow release 1 configuration
systems to shut off the database before it was
replaced with a new one and then re-activated.
The release 2 configuration mechanism depends on
mmaSetLock to backup and coordinate
configuration updates.
