No data has been lost, but there has been a reduction in the performance of the tape. Isolate the fault between the drive and the tape by doing the following: 1) Use a known good cartidge in the suspect drive. If the drive fails, contact your IBM Service Representative. 2) Use the suspect tape cartrige in a known good drive. If the test fails, discard the cartridge.
