When set to enabled(1), LCP Echo Request (in case of encapsulation PPP) or Cisco-HDLC keepalive messages (in case of encapsulation cisco-hdlc) are sent in regular intervals during the connection. Note that for ip-lapb or x25 encapsulation the liveliness check is done within the X.75 layer (independent of this setting).
